Utilities, consumer finance and debt management businesses
opt for cash payments with PayPoint
Bucharest, 2 July 2009 – PayPoint Romania, one of the main cash
payment operators in Romania, has announced that it has signed five new
agreements across a range of business sectors. The new contracts with
Apanova, Electrica Transilvania Sud, EOS KSI Romania, GE Money and
Petrom Distributie Gaze will enable customers of the five companies to
benefit from the cash payment services offered by PayPoint Romania
through its network of branded terminals in neighbourhood stores
throughout Romania.
“We are very pleased to be announcing these new contracts with five of
the most important companies in Romania,” said Mugur Dogariu,
Managing Director, PayPoint Romania. “These new clients, from market
sectors as diverse utilities to consumer finance, brings the number of
PayPoint’s clients in Romania to 19, almost doubling our client base over
the last year.”
To use the PayPoint cash payment service, consumers present a bill or
payment request form at a local neighbourhood store with the PayPoint
brand displayed. The shopkeeper scans the bill using the PayPoint POS
equipment, takes the cash payment and issues a receipt with the payment
details after the transaction has been processed The company which
issued the bill is automatically sent confirmation that payment has been
made. The entire process takes only a few seconds.
“Time is one of the most precious commodities nowadays,” added Mugur
Dogariu. “By using PayPoint to manage their cash payments, our clients’
customers are able to save themselves a lot of time and so spend much
more time with family, friends and in leisure activities.”
At the same time, the five new PayPoint clients will be able to streamline
the bill payment process, allowing them to plan ahead more effectively,
have a better understanding of future revenues and optimise their cash
flow.
