Retailers to receive commission for sales of activated SIM cards
PayPoint, the payment services network, has secured direct distribution
agreements with the major mobile networks and MVNOs, including
Vodafone, Virgin, T-Mobile, Orange, 3, Lyca, Lebara and Nomi, that will
allow PayPoint retailers to receive commissions of up to £5 on each SIM
card when sold with a top up voucher.
Retailers will be able to order SIM cards directly from their PayPoint
terminal and will benefit from free delivery directly to their store within
two working days.
SIM activation bonuses will be detailed on a new, monthly commission
statement, with payments being automatically generated to the PayPoint
retailer’s bank account.
Historically, independent retailers have not received commission for SIM
card activations. However, PayPoint’s direct supply initiative gives retailers
full control, recognition and reward for activations from the SIMS that
they sell, as well as full control over their stock.
Ivan Donn, director of new channels at PayPoint, commented: “This is a
fabulous deal for PayPoint retailers – a SIM card sold for just 99p
alongside a top up voucher will generate an activation bonus for our
retailers of £3-£5. This is an unmissable opportunity for retailers to
extend their relationship with PayPoint to earn substantial commission in a
market that currently moves around 10 million cards per year.”
