PayPoint partners exclusively with Nomi-call to sell MTN Nigeria Top-Up Phone Vouchers
PayPoint, the UK’s leading payment collection network is now offering customers the chance to purchase MTN Nigeria top-up mobile phone credit, for use by family, friends or business colleagues in Nigeria. The scheme is currently being trialled across London.
The new service enables customers to buy MTN Nigeria top-up vouchers from their nearest PayPoint outlet. The receipt produces a top-up PIN which can be texted to counterparts in Nigeria. The receiver enters the PIN in exactly the same way as if they had purchased the voucher in Nigeria, enabling longer call times. This is especially helpful if those in Nigeria run out of credit during calls.
The latest figures show there are over 1 million Nigerian nationals living in the UK, as a result the need for effective and convenient communication between the two countries has been steadily rising. Since December 2005, figures have shown a 500% increase in top-up vouchers purchased, a trend that looks set to rise even further. In the last month alone, 700 vouchers have been sold at 130 different PayPoint locations across London.
Top ups are available in amounts of £2.50, £8.50 and £17.00 and can be purchased from any PayPoint outlet via the new touchscreen terminal.
Mike Igoe, PayPoint Retail Director said: “PayPoint is delighted to be working exclusively with Nomi-call to provide this new service. By bringing this exclusive product to the UK, we aim to satisfy the growing number of Nigerian customers. Nothing is more important than being in close contact with friends, family and colleagues; so PayPoint now offers a convenient and affordable way to purchase MTN mobile top-up vouchers to ensure you stay in touch with close contacts in Nigeria.”
