PayPoint announces two new mobile phone operator agreements

PayPoint, the UK’s leading over the counter payment network is delighted to announce two new mobile phone operator agreements. PayPoint retailers will be able to top-up customers of these new MVNO’s (mobile virtual network operators).
IDT Mobile
IDT, one of the world’s largest telecom carriers is the first MVNO to launch on the Orange UK network following on from the success of their pay-as-you-go service which was launched in Belgium and the Netherlands in 2006.
IDT Mobile will be targeting international callers based in the UK with a new SIM-only pay-as-you-go service. PayPoint retailers will earn 4% commission on all IDT Mobile top-up transactions in denominations of £5, £10 and £20.
Lebara Mobile
Lebara Mobile UK is a new Pay-As-You-Go SIM card provider offering customers in the UK low cost international calls direct from their mobile phones. Lebara Mobile utilises the mobile network of Vodafone, Lebara Mobile operates services in the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The new UK service is aimed at customers who make frequent international calls who value the convenience of doing this directly from their mobile without dialling any pre-fix codes. The Lebara Mobile SIM card works with all mobile handset types.
PayPoint retailers will earn 4.5% commission on all Lebara Mobile top-up transactions in denominations of £5 to £50

- The PayPoint ATM network has 1,979 'LINK' branded machines across the UK, also typically in convenience stores;
- PayPoint Internet Payment Services (PPIPS), trading as Metacharge and SECPay, provides secure credit and debit card payments for over 4,000 web merchants linking into all the major UK acquiring banks; and
- PayPoint International has recently acquired a Romanian mobile top-up operator to which a bill payment service will be added, emulating the UK branded retail network. PayPoint International also operates Irish bill payment and top-up services.
PayPoint floated on the London Stock Exchange in September 2004. The company's market capitalisation at 30 October 2007 was £421million. PayPoint has been awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise and is widely recognised for its leadership in prepayment systems, smart technology and consumer service.
