James King

James King, Finance Operations Administrator

How long have you worked at PayPoint and what is your role?

I’m a Finance Operations Administrator at PayPoint. I have been working here for three years now. I started as a temp for 3 months and then went on to work in the contact centre, and have moved to my current role. Currently, I’m undertaking my AAT and am being put forward for a Microsoft Excel training course, which will expand my skill set.

What do you like about your role?

I enjoy my role in UK settlement as there is a sense of importance in the tasks I am doing, in terms of dealing with our clients’ money and settling their funds in a timely and accurate manner. My role also gives me the opportunity to interact with many departments around the business which helps me develop my skills and attributes on the job.

Carrie Weinert

Carrie Weinert, Group Head of Financial Operations

What is your role and when did your start working at PayPoint? 

I started with PayPoint in 1997. PayPoint is a fantastic company for personal development and looks to recruit from within wherever possible. I started my career here as an Accounts Assistant and PayPoint supported me to complete my CIMA qualification whilst working full time, which has allowed me to progress through a number of positions in the finance team and on to my current senior role. 

What do you like about working at PayPoint? 

PayPoint is a company always looking to the future and for opportunities to grow and diversify. I have seen us bring many new products to the market as well as acquiring and integrating other companies into the PayPoint group. 

 

Pavan Cherlapelly

Pavan Cherlapelly, Lead Developer

What do you like about working for PayPoint?

PayPoint gives me a good platform to explore, learn and implement new ideas and technologies. 

I have had a number of promotions since starting here in 2012, and have been lucky enough to go on a number of training courses, relevant to my role. At PayPoint, employee’s achievements are always recognised. My Manager supports me and gives me regular feedback and is quick to acknowledge the achievements in his team. I am working towards winning an award, as I have previously been a runner up at the Group IT Awards.

What are your passions outside of work?

Cricket is a big passion of mine – playing and watching it. I regularly play with my colleagues and we have an annual match, which is just one of the social events that is organised at PayPoint. 

 

Rachel Jones

Rachel Jones, Account Manager

What is your role and when did your start working at PayPoint?

I am a currently an Account Manager in the Client Management Team at PayPoint. I have had a number of roles at PayPoint since starting here in 2007 after moving from retail into my first office based job here. I answered an advert in the local newspaper (we now do all our advertising online so yes things have moved on!) and was successful in securing a Customer Service Advisor role and soon progressed onto an Agent Service Advisor.

Moving into a Client Co-Ordinator role in 2011 allowed me to progress into my current Account Manager role.  I learnt a lot from the people in my team and started to deal with some of our big utility clients, which enabled me to build my confidence and tackle some of the more tricky situations.

What do you like about working at PayPoint?

I have always had extremely supportive managers who have enabled me to go on internal and external training. They have encouraged me to apply for roles internally and ensured I have gained the skills I need to progress my career.  I believe that if you display the right attitude and behaviours you will be given the opportunity to progress.

 

Thulani Mupemhi

Thulani Mupemhi, Incident and Compliance Team Leader

What do you like about working at PayPoint?

The opportunity that PayPoint has given me to develop myself through external courses and work experience in our legal department. One of the things I really love about PayPoint and that I have been really lucky enough to experience is the support you get if you want to further your career.  Of course, a really big part of it is how you drive your own development, and being responsible for that.

Describe PayPoint in one word

When I think of PayPoint, one word springs to mind and that is ‘innovation’. We are always growing and adapting to changes in the market.

Why should others work at PayPoint?

I think you should join PayPoint there is plenty of opportunity and fantastic team spirit.  Who wouldn’t want to be part of that?

Joe Pniok

Joe Pniok, Regional Development Manager

How long have you been working at PayPoint and what is your role?

I am a Regional Development Manager - this job role involves managing a team who sell and maintain relationships with retailers in the convenience sector. When I started four years ago, I was installing, training and decommissioning terminals. As the years have gone on, I have progressed to selling products and building relationships with these retailers.

What do you like about working at PayPoint?

I have a good team around me that are always available to me or my retailers. It only takes a call to the office and I’m given all the support I need. If you are prepared to work hard, you reap the rewards and this has enabled me to have a fantastic wedding and buy a new set of golf clubs for the weekend!

Joel Webb

Joel Webb, Desktop Service Team Leader

What is your role at PayPoint?

My name is Joel Webb and I manage the Desktop Services Team at PayPoint. I manage and mentor a team of seven desktop services engineers who support PayPoint’s network IT infrastructure. As well as managing the Desktop Services Team, I also make up part of the Service Management Delivery Team.

What do you like most about working at PayPoint?

I love the ethos that we are one big PayPoint family and this really comes across in some of the charity work, family fun days and award evenings.

What are your interests outside of work?

I have just bought my first apartment close to the office, so I enjoy not having a commute and gaining some extra time for my hobbies and family life. When given the chance, I enjoy driving Ferraris at Silverstone, holidays in Vegas, playing my Xbox and following football.
